Abstract

Tightening resources and increased student admissions need innovative learning strategies to ensure students continue to receive a high standard of education. This is particularly difficult for those working in vocational subjects. Simulated environments can be one way of allowing students to develop transferable skills and exercise professional and practical judgement without significant risk. This paper examines such a simulated environment, in this case a newspaper, and examines whether the students benefit from such an environment.
