Abstract

The separation behavior of flotation cells has been studied theoretically as well as experimentally. Fine particle flotation in a centrifugal force field is shown to result in an improved separation efficiency. Both reduction of (fine) particle entrainment and decrease of particle-particle interaction during the collision of particles with bubbles in a centrifugal force field result in the observed improved separation behavior.
