Abstract

Reducing the radar cross section (RCS) is important to suppress radio wave interference. Many radar absorbent material (RAM) have been investigated according to performance requirements. This paper presents the RCS reduction characteristics of RAM composed of dielectric materials for 3 GHz. The optimum values of dielectric substance condition to design flat layer RAM are investigated. Moreover, RCS reduction results obtained by considering frequency dependency also show that RCS reduction increases and the absorption range is wider by adding the RAM layer. This indicates that the proposed two flat layers RAM can be used at a broadband frequencies around 3 GHz.
