Abstract

Objective To observe the expression of thymidylate synthase (TS),thymidine phosphorylase(TP) and dUTPase in colorectal carcinoma, normal tissues and corresponding lymph node metastasis,to study whether there is difference in expression levels of TS,TP and dUTPase in primary tumors of colorectal carcinoma and corresponding lymph node metastasis, and the relationship with the chemosensitivity of 5-Fu,and to assess feasibility of determine indicators of TS,TP and dUTPase as 5-Fu chemosensitivity. Methods The expression of TS,TP and dUTPase in 33 cases of colorectal cancer, normal tissues and corresponding lymph node metastases were assessed by immunohistochemical method. Results The expression levels, dyeing and dyeing depth range of TS,TP and dUTPase in 33 cases of lymph node metastasis of colorectal carcinomas was higher than that in primary tumors in colorectal carcinomas, the difference was significant (P < 0.05).The expression of TP in primary tumor and lymph node metastasis in colorectal carcinomas were highly expressed, and had no correlation. The resistant in primary tumor and lymph node metastasis in colorectal cancer were not consistent. Conclusions The expression of TS and dUTPase in primary tumor and lymph node metastasis in colorectal carcinomas have significant differences,so the chemotherapy should be selected according to their metastatic expression levels of TS and dUTPase.
