Abstract
A compact monopole antenna with a tuning stub for USB dongle applications is proposed. The proposed stub-loaded monopole antenna covers the WiBro, WLAN, WiMAX, and S-DMB (Satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcast) bands. The overall dimension of the fabricated antenna is 20 × 50 × 0.8 mm3. The measured −10 dB reflection bandwidths for two resonant frequencies are 25.5% (2105–2720 MHz) and 12.8% (5145–5848 MHz). The radiation patterns approximate an omni-directional pattern. The measured peak gain of the antenna is 3.67 dBi. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
