Abstract
We wish to report a new approach to monitoring steroid immunoassay based upon antibody-enhanced hydrolysis of a steroid-fluorescent dye conjugate [ 1 ] . In this method a carboxy derivative of a steroid is conjugate to a fluorescent dye (e.g., 7-hydroxycoumarin (umbelliferone)) through an ester bond, and the steroid-umbelliferone (fluorescent dye) conjugate (fig.1) yields fluorescent products upon hydrolysis.
