Abstract
A stereoselective Lewis acid promoted reaction of 5-hydroxynaphthoquinone ( 6) and diene ( 10) gave the adduct ( 11) as the sole cycloaddition product. This was transformed into the title compound ( 1) by a three step procedure in 47% overall yield from ( 6).
