Abstract

In a recent report in Nature Medicine, Tao etal. (2021) demonstrate that MPTP-treated monkeys receiving autologous, but not allogeneic, transplantation showed significant long-term improvement in motor and depressive behaviors, supporting the feasibility of autologous cell therapy for Parkinson's disease (PD).
