Abstract In a stellar photometer for the infrared recently developed at the Harvard College Observatory a lead sulfide cell generates an ac signal corresponding to the stellar intensity alone by nutating the image on a specially designed cell. The amplifier outputs are synchronously converted by phase-sensitive detectors and fed through RC filters in push-pull fashion into a vacuum tube voltmeter with a chart recorder following. The system also develops a guiding-error signal used to refer corrections to the telescope guiding. Harvard College Observatory, Cambridge, Mass., Allied Research Associates, Inc., Boston, Mass.
