Abstract

AbstractVisitors to Leeds City Art Gallery will find, among its chief exhibits, , a magnificent bronze statue group of the Bronte Sisters. This is the property of the Bronte Society, which hopes that it will one day find a permanent setting at Haworth. How this noble workpiece of sculpture came to be acquired by the Society is a long story. which I propose to set down as briefly as possible here. It starts at a meeting of the Council of the Society in November, 1949.
