Abstract
A multichannel concentrator with the magnetic self-insulation was redesigned to obtain high-power bremsstrahlung of the electron beam at the Angara-5-1 installation in a range from 50 keV to 1 MeV. The magnetic self-contraction of the electron beam was reduced by using eight separate diodes instead of one. Due to redesigning the output unit of the installation, a dose rate of 350 MGy/s was attained at a current of 3.5 MA and a voltage of 900 kV at a distance of 60 mm from the diodes.
