Abstract

A facility for normal-incidence acoustic impedance and absorption co-efficient measurement in the frequency range 20–85 Hz has been developed at the US Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories. The system consists of an enclosed waveguide operating in the fundamental mode, with an array of microphones and data processing electronics for determining the complex reflection coefficient of a surface two meters square.
