Abstract
Based on the fact of the difficulty of reaching grid electricity to the remote location, and to reduce the complexity of the solar PV system which delivers alternating electricity, this paper proposes a new design with analysis of stand-alone solar PV system which considers the direct current DC loads for small size portable house applications. This proposal reduces the complexity and the cost which are represented by applying the alternating current items such as inverter, filter and/or step up insulating transformer. The presented design considers 2.25 kW rated system power with the capability of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) based on an effective Fuzzy Logic Control FLC design. The proposed solution is evaluated through comparisons the conventional MPPT methods of the Perturb & Observe (P&O) and the Incremental Conductance (Inc. Cond.) using MATLAB/Simulink software and promises higher priority as a strong prototype for practical applications.
