Abstract

A 1D zigzag chain Cd(II) coordination polymer (CP), [Cd(L)2(tcpa)]n(1) (L = 1,3-bis(2-methylbenzimidazol-1-yl)-2-propanol, H2tcpa = tetrachloroterephthalic acid) was hydrothermally synthesized and characterized. 1 can be a promising fluorescence probe to detect chlortetracycline (CTC) with a limit of detection of 2.3 × 10−8 mol/L. 1 could be reused five times. Further, the fluorescent sensing mechanism of 1 was discussed.
