Abstract

The accident data shows that most electrical equipment failures are accompanied by the occurrence of partial discharge. Through the detection of partial discharge, the early warning of the accident can be realized in a timely and effective manner. Therefore, it is very important to detect whether there is partial discharge in high-voltage lines and electrical equipment. This paper proposes a spherical sensor that can be used for partial discharge detection. The sensor is based on the principle of an electric small antenna, which can be equivalent to a capacitance in the electrostatic field to measure the partial discharge signal. In this paper, the relevant parameters of the spherical sensor are verified by simulink and HFSS simulation analysis, and the detection effect of HFCT is compared through experiments. With its simple production and convenient use, the spherical sensor can replace the HFCT to a certain extent to complete the daily PD inspection work.
