Abstract

Following the line of literature reviews on spatial equilibrium models, in this article, the authors develop a new spatial equilibrium model including both passenger and freight transportation. It is an improvement of the classic spatial model, in which passenger freight was not taken into account. A concept of passenger-support-measure is proposed and a numerical example is employed to validate the new model. The result shows that economic cooperation between regions needs both inexpensive goods transportation and accessible passenger transportation.
