Abstract

The Danjiangkou Reservoir is the water source of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. The use of remote sensing images to monitor the long-term changes of surface water for the reservoir is of great significance for ensuring the water transfer volume of the South-to-North Water Diversion. In this study, multi-temporal Landsat remote sensing image was used to obtain a long-time series of spatial surface water dataset for the Danjiangkou reservoir (Henan province) based on Google Earth engine cloud platform through the relationship among modified Normalized Difference Water Index (mNDWI), Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). This dataset includes the 21-years spatial surface water dataset of Danjiangkou Reservoir from 2000 to 2020, which can provide a basis for studying Danjiangkou Reservoir's surface water temporal and spatial changes. The dataset can be used as basic data for the study of climate change and ecological environment changes in the region too.
