Abstract
The three-vector modulation (TVM), which selects the three nearest active vectors to synthesize the reference current vector, is widely used to reduce output current ripple of the AC/DC matrix converters (MCs) operating in the high voltage transfer ratio range. However, the output current ripple with the TVM is significantly increased when the unity grid power factor (PF) is required. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a new SVM method for AC/DC MC by considering the effect of the input filter displacement angle on the output current ripple. And, an optimal vector sequence is selected for the proposed SVM method to minimize the effect of the displacement angle on the output current ripple. Simulation results are given to demonstrate that the proposed SVM method provides smaller output current ripple than the TVM as well as the conventional SVM methods.
