Abstract

Abstract The mean-field description previously developed for n -fermion systems in the canonical ensemble with 2-body interactions defined in the continuous configuration space of particle positions is adapted to fermion systems with bounded momentum and spin-dependent interactions. The method is applied to an model of a anisotropic superconductor. The model displays the typical features of the behaviour of a superconductor: a second order phase transition accompanied by the appearance of correlated pairs, an anisotropic gap in the energy spectrum and a nonzero transition width Δ T in the temperature scale.
