Abstract

In model predictive control (MPC) system for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), calculation delay of the strategy influences control performances seriously. A Smith structure-based model predictive current control (MPCC) strategy is proposed in this article. The cost function of MPCC is improved and the Smith structure is added to compensate calculation delay. Advantages such as speed ITAE, settling time, and stability compared with the conventional MPCC strategy under the same conditions are analyzed. The effectiveness and correctness of the proposed method are corroborated by the simulation and experimental results.
