Abstract

The design and performance of a small neutron diffractometer is presented. The device is located at the 100 kW Triga Mark II reactor. This diffractometer has the monochromator unit inside a radial beam port. As a monochromator, a single crystal of lead is used. The produced neutron beam has a wavelength of 1.10 Å. The properties of this beam and the possibilities of utilization for physical research as well as the required associated instrumentation are described.
