Abstract
A simple addition to a Linde helium liquefier is described by which temperatures in the range of 4-14°K can be produced. The heat influx is balanced by desorption of helium gas from charcoal. A temperature constancy of ± 0.001° can be maintained for periods up to 1½ h by manual control. A brief description of the helium liquefier is also given.
