Abstract

Mixing machines often employ very interesting mechanisms. One of these, a spatial six-link mechanism involving only revolutes, is investigated in this paper. The main member of this mechanism, the mixing drum, transcribes a general motion in space. Using the matrix method, the general analytic kinematic description of the mechanism is outlined, thereby providing the means for solving different kinematic and also dynamic problems. The problem of the drum is investigated in more detail.
