Abstract

A simultaneous bidirectional single-ended link is realized in TI's 130-nm BiCMOS technology without any replica drivers. We measure a jitter tolerance of about 0.7 UIpp at 10 MHz for the 24-Gb/s forward channel with 18.3-dB loss at a bit error rate (BER) <; 10 -12 , while consuming 141.25 mW in the bidirectional drivers and receiver front-ends. Furthermore, the architecture has been extended to support transfer of dc power over coax in addition to high-speed signaling.
