Abstract

This paper proposes a static or Monte-Carlo simulation methodology to study the effect or randomness in cutting surface constraints. The decision-maker can apply the methodology to several job-machine combinations and obtain the parameters, not just a single cost as in deterministic cases, of the minimum cost per piece distribution before making a final job-machine assignment.
