Abstract

A simplified algorithm is proposed in this paper for space-vector modulation (SVM) of three-phase voltage source PWM rectifier. The transfer function and control loop design of the rectifier are detail described. For three-phase voltage source PWM rectifier, the space-vector modulation scheme has excellent features such as increased utilized voltage, easy implementation via microprocessor etc. In this paper the duty cycles of space voltage vectors are calculated directly to track the reference voltage vector in each sector of the space vector plane. It avoids the look-up tables of sine and/or arctangent and complex calculations needed in the conventional methods. Based on experimental platform for Power Electronics PE-PRO / VC33, the experimental results demonstrated that the proposed system also has the advantages including unity input power factor and greatly reduced input line current harmonic distortion due to nearly sinusoidal input line current attainable with controlled rectifiers.
