Abstract

A simple Weissenberg goniometer is described in which only essential features are incorporated. These are (1) a movement effected by a small synchronous electric motor giving the camera (radius 3 cm.) a translation of 1 mm. per 2° rotation of the crystal; (2) a low-power microscope on an adjustable mounting enabling the crystal to be centred on the usual goniometer head; (3) an X-ray aperture system on an adjustable mounting.
