Abstract
Custom traysare commonly made with a light-poly-merizing acrylic resin material (TriadTruTray; Dentsply Intl) over a waxspacer. The material is polymerizedin a light unit (Triad 2000; DentsplyIntl). The manufacturer recommendsa polymerization time of 2 minutes,followed by removal of the softenedwax. This frequently results in thewax melting, which produces a residuefilm on the custom tray surface. Aprocedure for preventing the wax spacerfrom melting during the polymerizationof light-polymerized acrylic resin isdescribed.
