Abstract

A simple model has been devised to predict the number of chromophores which are photoreactive in polymers which contain groups that undergo [2 + 2] photocycloaddition reactions. The model utilises typical molecular dimensions and considers the possible permutations of photosensitive groups in specific sections of three adjacent polymer chains.
