Abstract

Zero common mode voltage (CMV) is attractive to matrix converters (MC). In this paper a simple modulation strategy for direct matrix converters (DMC) with the features of zero CMV and adjustable input reactive power is presented. By properly employing counterclockwise and clockwise rotating vectors, the zero CMV and adjustable input reactive power are realized simultaneously. Moreover, the computational burden decreases compared with the conventional methods. Experiments are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.
