Abstract

An infrared absorption measurement system, suitable for the analysis of simple gas mixtures with known constituents is under investigation. A theoretical insight into the problems arising from the filter bandwidth when measuring infrared absorption in gases at higher pressures is given. It is demonstrated that the proposed measurement system can be used for the analysis of infrared absorbing ternary gas samples when suitable evaluation algorithms, e.g., partial least-squares regression, are used.
