Abstract

A duplicate of an existing prosthesis is often used as a surgical guide to assist in surgical placement of a dental implant. Various duplication methods have been described in the literature.1–5 Generally, the existing denture is evaluated and determined to be adequate for esthetics and function, embedded in an impression material, retrieved, and the space inside the mold is filled with an acrylic resin. These methods, however, require special instruments or materials for the duplication procedure that may not be readily available.
