Abstract
A simple method of measurement of bulk resistivity of soil using an autoranging digital voltmeter is described. The apparatus is battery-operated, portable and weighs only 6 kg. It can be easily constructed using readily available integrated circuits and other electronic components. The use of the method in conjunction with digital data-processing techniques in an archaeological survey is demonstrated.
