Abstract
To avoid rapid water loss from the leaves of plants grown in vitro during their transplantation to the field, the leaves were smeared with either 50% (v/v) glycerol, or paraffin wax or grease in ether at the time of transplantation. This method allowed 100% survival of cultured plants. This simple method avoids the lengthy and cumbersome process of hardening of tissue culture plants.
