Abstract

The 2-Dimensional Angle-of-Arrival (2D-AoA) i.e. azimuth and elevation angle are the parameters of prime importance in present days' advanced Direction Finding (DF) receiver in Electronic Warfare. During design and development of 2D-DF receiver, there lies lot of issues. It is preferable to resolve those by carrying out Test & Evaluation in laboratory premise prior to field-trials. Usually, in a space-constrained laboratory setup, the generation of radar signal with 2D-AoA is not as simple as in case of 1D-AoA. Here, in this paper, a simple and cost-effective laboratory setup is presented to create 2D-AoA scenario by keeping transmitter fixed and receiver moving on 3-axes servo. The proposed solution has been derived mathematically and verified experimentally in the laboratory with exhaustive test cases.
