Abstract

A simple glass Dewar setup for high resolution microscopic observations of magneto-optical phenomena at liquid helium temperatures is described. The light is guided via a light pipe system into the Dewar. The observations are made using a microscope with objective lenses with a working distance of a few millimeters placed outside the Dewar. Resolutions of the order of 1 μ are obtained.
