Abstract
Objeetive To design a simple formula which could calculate the residual corneal thickness for excimer laser patients correctly to improve security and avoid excessive examine.Methods Both this simple method and traditional computerized formula were applied in 3018 cases (6017 eyes) with myopia and astigmatism from 5264 cases accepted preopreative examination for excimer laser.The safe residual corneal thicknesses were calculated by these two methods with the same ocular parameters.The results were compared and analyzed.Results There were no significant differences between the results calculated by this simple method and traditional computerized formula.The two results had good match rate.Corclusion The simple method for calculating safe residual corneal thickness in excimer laser patients is proved to be correct and effective.
