Abstract

In this paper, we propose a novel and simple uplink MIMO channel estimation technique based on spread pilots technique well suited to SS-MC-MA schemes. The combination with Alamouti code is studied and two different approaches are compared. As the interferences are mainly generated by the channel variance on the pilot sequence, we demonstrate the advantages of a chip mapping optimization. The performances evaluated over a realistic MIMO channel show the efficiency of this novel scheme which appears to be a promising channel estimation for the uplink of the future wideband wireless networks.
