Abstract
Passive cavitation detection methods for measuring ultrasound cavitation events have been utilized for many years. They allow clinicians and researchers to measure cavitation device performance and monitor treatment in real-time. Many methods involve complex processing algorithms and/or expensive measurement hardware. Here we describe and provide open-source resources for a simple benchtop apparatus for measuring the acoustic emissions produced by cavitation events, especially in the context of histotripsy device characterization.
