A Simple and Ambulatory Approach for Prevention and Treatment of Ovarian Hyperestimulation Syndrome

Abstract

Ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome (OHSS) is a potentially serious and often uncomfortable complication during controlled ovarian hyperstimulation for IVF or Intracytoplasmatic sperm inyection (ICSI). Different strategies have been described for its prevention including coasting of stimulation treatment, reduced hCG administration, early follicular aspiration, the use of intravenous albumin, glucocorticoids, cancellation of embryo transfer and freezing. The objective of this presentation is to communicate the approach used to treat OHSS in our clinic.
