Abstract

We have calculated the chemical potential of a nondegenerate, magnetized electron system of a specified concentration taking into account Landau diamagnetism, Pauli paramagnetism, and the fact that the kinetic energy of a longitudinal continuous motion of electrons is varied between 0 and 2μB H within each Landau level. The calculation results are compared with those obtained with no account of this fact. Approaches to the calculation of the collective characteristics of the electron system in the presence of weak and strong magnetic fields are discussed.
