Abstract

This paper describes briefly a project for building a highly parallel computer for simulating physical phenomena described by partial differential equations. The special-purpose computer implements multigrid algorithms for solving partial differential equations. We show that the multigrid machine is a good alternative to commercial microprocessor-based parallel computers for running grid-based applications
