Abstract

We study the effect of six-quark clusters on deuteron electrodisintegration in the threshold region, using the hybrid quark-hadron model and including the contribution of the isoscalar meson exchange current. Our results indicate that the isoscalar meson exchange current makes a small contribution to the cross section. Furthermore, a maximum of the cross section, when the relative kinetic energy of the nucleons in the c.m. frame of the proton-neutron system is small, might be a signal of existence of six-quark clusters in the deuteron.
