Abstract

Energy detection is the most common signal detection method in cognitive radio, which can sense burst signal fast. Traditional energy detection algorithms are difficult to adapt to rapid changes in channel parameters, and it is susceptible to noise uncertainty, so that the cognitive users can not accurately estimate the noise power, detection performance is somewhat limited. In this article, a hybrid energy detection algorithm-unfold window energy detector (UWED) is proposed on the basis of energy detector and energy ration detector. This algorithm not only takes into account the impact of noise uncertainty on system performance, but also effectively overcomes the problems of perceptual failure and large computation in traditional energy detectors. The simulation results show that the unfold window energy detection algorithm can effectively improve the signal detection performance of the application system.
