Abstract

Conversion efficiencies of a-Si solar cells have been significantly improved in recent years, and 12.0% efficiency was achieved for a 10 cm × 10 cm a-Si solar cell submodule. As new trials, a-Si technologies are also applied to the fabrication of crystalline silicon solar cells. This paper summarizes our latest developments in a-Si technologies for high efficiency solar cells, and discusses our view of the future.
