Abstract

The marine pollution become a poison into our biodiversity and ecosystem. Basically, marine industry major contribution upon seawater pollution. Ship operation are source that contribute oil spillage such diesel into a surface of ocean. The accident during transportation of oil and ballast water of tanker transfer generally be killer to aquatic species. The harmful of varies hydrocarbon from crude oil petroleum gives a big impact to our nature. Since Malaysia are located at strategical location of ship lane to cross over the sea, this review emphasized of diesel spillage that facing our country especially at Melaka Straits. Melaka coastal received a big impact from water pollution according to oil spillage from ship and sea transportation. Photocatalytic technique is promising a cure to solve a problem of sea pollution. Previous studies show that degradation of diesel can achieved about 99.38% of removal diesel with variety of skills of modifications and methods. Catalysis has ability such as destruction of pollutants through of oxidation reactions with helper from reactive oxygen species like hydroxyl radical. Activity of photocatalytic are highly depending on a parameter which play the role in order to achieved of high removal of diesel. Previous studies via experimental are compared in contents to having combination of factors which can reach the best diesel pollutions removal rate and the influence order of factors.
