AbstractUrbanization being trend in this century where many developing countries has its own impact on environment. In the fore coming years, both south and East Asian countries will have fastest urban growth rate. Urbanization on the other hand is closely bind with industrialization. Regions leeward from large industries experience increased air pollution and amount of precipitation. Urban areas effect the runoff patterns of water along with the weather patterns. Urbanization has its effect on water in various stages initially starting with removal of trees, vegetation and later during construction stage, it may cause infiltration and decreased ground water table. There are two central impacts of urbanization on water quality. To start with, the convergence of waste materials tends to build the broke up solids substance and diminishing the disintegrated oxygen content. Second, as surge tops increment because of the expanded zone of impenetrability and diminished slack time, less. Here in this review paper, impact of urbanization in India on the ground and surface water in terms of quality parameters, floods and surface runoffs will be portrayed.
