A short proof of Rost nilpotence via refined correspondences

Abstract

I generalize the notion of composition of algebraic correspondences using the refined Gysin homorphism of Fulton- MacPherson intersection theory. Using this notion, I give a short self-contained proof of Rost's nilpotence theorem and a generaliza- tion of one important proposition used by Rost in his proof of the theorem.
