Abstract
This issue covers 3 interesting case reports. In the first case the authors highlight the issue of sedation during anaesthesia in a case of Mucopolysaccharidosis-IV. Patients with Mucopolysaccharidosis-IV may have craniofacial deformities and short neck, along with stiffening of the temporo-mandibular joints, anteriorly positioned larynx and an unstable atlanto-axial joint.
Highlights
The second case involves management of Kala Azar, a chronic infectious disease caused by parasitic infection with Leishmania donovani
Over the years it has been seen that infection with Leishmania donovani has become drug resistant to molecules like antimony, pentamidine, paromomycin and miltefosine
As a chronic physical illness, depression may be understood as a reaction to illness, but the authors rightly raise the issue of lack of epidemiological data with regard to depression and other common mental disorders in patients with Kala Azar
