Abstract
4-Isobutyl-6-methyl-5-oxo-3a,4,5,7a-tetrahydro-1 H-inden-13-oic acid (named viscosumic acid) and quercetin 3- O-(6″-feruloyl)-β-D-galactopyranoside, and the known 3′,5-dihydroxy-3,4′,5′,7-tetramethoxyflavone have been isolated from Polygonum viscosum. The structures of these isolates were determined primarily on the basis of extensive 1D and 2D NMR spectral analyses, notably, 13 C PENDANT, COSY45, TOCSY, GOESY, NOESY, HMQC and HMBC.
